The Progress of Tradition

The Etruscans, our fathers. At the feet of the Cimini mountains, Viterbo, with the ancient Surrena, was the beating heart of that great artistic laboratory that embellished art and the ceramic tradition with original elements which were then passed onto the Romans and from the Romans down to us enriched with two thousand years of aesthetic and productive evolution. A long and ininterrupted path through the progress: the yesterdays, todays and tomorrows contained in the art of firing clay. It's a thousand year-old history with its knowledge, its craft, its aesthetics and its architecture that Vallelunga trademark is reinterpreting with refinement, style, chromatic equilibrium and imagination. It's the trademark stamped on wall and floor coverings that represents the great artistic tradition of the viterbese territory that at the same time are able to conjugate and express the contemporary trends. Vallelunga proposes a civilisation for the man who lives.

HISTORY
The rooths of Ceramica Vallelunga date back to the first 1950s when a group of friends/partners had  an intuition, mixed to a dose of courage, to create a complete cycle to produce gres porcelain mosaic. They took a decision that went in countertrend towards the other business ventures that were put into practice and that carried to the birth of the important industrial ceramic district for the production of pottery and sanitaryware of Civita Castellana.
At the beginning was born Ceramica Keraviv that, during the years, throughout an evolutionary process, kept up with the times, transformed into current Ceramica Vallelunga.


PROFILE
Nowadays the factory produces 6,000 square metres daily, divided into floor tiles in gres porcelain and white body wall tiles.
Even though the production is not so huge in volume, the plant has been equipped with vanguard systems that give the necessary flexibility to keep up with the evolution of the market.


RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Aesthetic exingencies on one hand (fashion and tendencies), technical exingencies (functionality and duration) and environmental ones (attention to respect nature) on the other hand, pushed more and more the ceramic floor and wall tiles to an important evolution.
Ceramica Vallelunga has shaped the evolution of the research and development in such directions, creating products that have been successful in a natural way to the final customers' eyes, expressing a high aesthetic value with a practical and fashion design.


ORGANIZATION
Ceramica Vallelunga lives a peculiar reality: it is located in Nepi, near Viterbo, the country town of the province and 30 kms far from Rome, in a district where the ceramic culture boasts of a thousand-year tradition. It is located 400 kms far from the Sassuolo ceramic area.
All this has “forced” the factory to assume those necessary initiatives to compensate the initial  disadvantage represented by such a distance.
In light of this, Ceramica Vallelunga entertains a steady relationship with the Sassuolo district, mondial capital of the sector, to be at the technological vanguard of the processes of the marketing  strategies, of the design and of the stylistic research.
The factory has got some vehicles that shuttle from the plant to Sassuolo every day and can count on wide stock supplies of field tiles and decorations in order to absorb unforseen difficulties in supplying of producing factors.
Besides, it has acquired a natural efficiency standard in the management of the orders and it is always involved in improving itself.
